Our Story

The founders and their family during time spent in India.

Our journey with India didn’t begin with an organization—it began with relationships.

We are Kelly and Narendra, founders of The Boundless Initiative.

Our connection to India didn’t begin with a nonprofit or a plan. It began nearly twenty years ago through time spent living in India — building relationships, sharing everyday life, and learning what it means to keep showing up in the same place over time.

Narendra grew up in India — the challenges we work to address were part of his childhood. He went on to serve eleven years in the US Army before returning his focus to the communities where he was raised. His roots give him the ability to bridge cultural and language gaps that most organizations can’t — building trust with families, local leaders, and tradespeople in ways that make the work possible. Kelly first came in 2007 and stayed, volunteering and building relationships in the same communities. For her, India quickly became personal — not abstract, not theoretical, but rooted in real people and real places. What connected us wasn’t a project or an idea, but a shared sense of responsibility toward the communities around us. That never left either of us.

We were married in 2010 in the United States. We intended to return to India soon after, but life took us in a different direction for a season. Still, the pull never changed. The relationships didn’t fade. And neither did the sense that we would return.

Over the years, India became more than a place we visited. It shaped how we understand trust, service, and responsibility. Through shared meals, long conversations, and simply being present, we learned that meaningful help grows slowly — and that lasting change is almost always rooted in relationship.

For many years, this work remained personal and self-funded. It was intentionally limited in scope, shaped by relationship, and carried only within what we could responsibly do on our own.

Eventually, it became clear that meaningful, lasting impact couldn’t rest on two people alone. To grow responsibly — and to invite others into work rooted in long-term presence and accountability — structure became necessary.

That decision led to the creation of The Boundless Initiative.

This work is also something our sons, Micah and Caleb, are growing up inside of. They travel with us, serve alongside us, and are learning firsthand what it looks like to live responsibly, give generously, and build something meaningful with the resources they’ve been given. As they build their own projects, giving back is not an add-on — it’s part of the foundation. We want them to understand early that impact, stewardship, and integrity matter as much as success.

How We Work

We believe meaningful change happens through trust, local relationships, and long-term commitment—not quick fixes.

Locally identified needs
Projects begin with listening. Community leaders and families help identify priorities and guide solutions.

Practical, tangible action
We focus on meeting real needs—clean water, education, nutrition, and basic infrastructure—with dignity and care.

Direct use of funds
Resources are used for materials, labor, and implementation, with clear communication and accountability.

Relationship before results
We prioritize trust, consistency, and presence over speed or scale.

Long-term perspective
Our goal is sustainable impact that supports families and communities over time.

Where We Serve

Our work is currently focused in India, where long-standing relationships guide our projects and partnerships in rural and underserved communities.

We also maintain relationships in Nepal and are exploring opportunities to expand our work there in the future as needs, partnerships, and sustainable pathways take shape.

In every context, our approach remains the same—listening first, working alongside local leaders, and pursuing practical solutions rooted in dignity and long-term impact.
